Dry Needling and Western Medical Acupuncture
Dry needling or Intramuscular stimulation is a term used to describe subset of Acupuncture provided by a practioner who is not an acupuncturist.
Typically, when needled appropriately, and the muscles are properly hydrated, a muscle may jump and release upon needling.
A comprehensively trained acupuncturist may utilize dry needling (or Acupuncture) with electro-acupuncture in treating musculoskeletal pain conditions like sciatica, low back pain, tennis elbow, neck and shoulder pain. This type of needling is offered at Regina Acupuncture.
